ODT 7 - Dungeness Prairie Crossing
This segment of ODT has 6.7 miles of completed, separated trail with an equestrian side path. The trail extends across the Dungeness prairie from Kitchen-Dick Rd to Lake Farm Rd. The trail extends west about 0.5 miles from Kitchen-Dick Rd to Vautier Rd where it leaves the railroad grade. Continue south on Vautier Rd for approximately 0.25 miles to enter at the corner of Robin Hill County Park where the trail turns west again.
Robin Hill Park has an ODT trailhead (access point) and offers parking, toilets, picnic facilities and in-park walking and horse trails through a mature forest. A half mile past the park, the trail crosses McDonald (sometimes spelled McDonnell) Ck on a 93 ft railroad flatcar bed converted into a bridge.
Continuing west through farming country, the trail turns north, then west along Old Olympic Hwy, finally ducking under the highway bridge at Siebert Ck and crossing the creek on a trail bridge underneath. Now, having crossed under the highway, the trail turns north to rejoin the old railroad grade heading west. It follows the grade through second growth forest for 2 miles to Lake Farm Rd where this segment ends. Continue west in the next segment ODT 8.
