ODT 2 - Discovery Bay East Side (Temporary, on-road, Route)
This 6.2 mile temporary portion of the ODT is currently on State Hwy 20 from its intersection at Four Corners Rd to US Hwy 101 at the southern tip of Discovery Bay. Highway 20 is a winding, hilly road through the forest, high above Discovery Bay. Glimpses of Discovery Bay can be seen on this ride. For much of the route the shoulder width is from 2 to 4 ft. For roughly 2 miles, however, near Eaglemount Rd at the crest of the route, the highway has little to no shoulder. Traffic in this area exceeds 45 mph in some sections.

An alternative to riding this route would be to catch one of the Jefferson Transit #8 buses (each bus can carry 2 bikes) that run between Sequim and Port Townsend. Near the intersection with Hwy 101, at the southern tip of Discovery Bay, the bus stops at the Discovery Bay Store. There is also a bus stop at the intersection of Four Corners Rd and Hwy 20. There is parking available and a small grocery store at the intersection of Four Corners Rd and Discovery Rd. Bus route and time schedules can be found at www.JeffersonTransit.com. A couple of restaurants, gift shops, and a small store are located near the intersection of Hwy 20 and Hwy 101 at the tip of the bay.
