Hurricane Ridge
We recommend driving your car up to the Heart O' the Hills campground, about 6.5 miles from the intersection of US Hwy 101 and Race St in Port Angeles, and then pedalling the rest of the way. From the campground expect extreme elevation gains as the route exceeds 5,500 ft of elevation gained in approximately 12 miles. On a clear day the vistas at the top are spectacular.
Olympic National Park has an excellent visitor center with toilets, water, and food. Beware of seasonal issues such as weather constraints. People who live in this region consider Hurricane Ridge a must see for visitors!
