The Olympic Adventure Route Section 2
Eden Valley to Joyce Access Road (MP 7 to MP 12). After the Eden Valley road crossing, this trail enters remote country with no other public access until the Joyce Access Road Crossing at about MP 12.5. It is popular with mountain bikers coming from the trailheads off Highway 112. There is plenty of parking along the Eden Valley Road just after the pavement ends.
After climbing for a mile, the trail levels off and crosses the headwaters of Salt Creek at MP 8.5, using the “Burrito Bridge” (named for its wetland foundations of gravel rolled up in landscape fabric). The trail switchbacks upward and traverses steep hillside for several miles, crossing several ATV trails and an old road. Beyond it comes out into the open with good views to the northeast of Striped Peak, the straits, and Victoria. It trends downward to cross Bear Creek and the Graul-Ramapo road (public access via the private Graul-Ramapo Rd is not allowed). The trail then climbs steadily to the Joyce Access Road Crossing.
