Strait View Drive at bottom of Morse Creek
grade of Highway 101. Just west is the Morse
Creek trestle, which was restored by Peninsula Trails
Coalition volunteers in 1999. Trail turns north and
gradually descends.
4.1 Trail reaches the
shore of Juan de Fuca Straits and follows it west for over
two miles, with many opportunities for access to the gravel
and sand beaches. Then it becomes unpaved and turns inland and climbs
abruptly for the temporary half-mile detour around the Rayonier Mill site,
pending disposal and cleanup of this property.

1.1 Cross bridge and enter parking lot of
old Rayonier Mill. For parking here, turn north off Highway 101
(Front Street) on to Ennis Street and continue north to the bottom
of the hill. The trail continues through a gate and follows the
shoreline west.
0.6 Francis Street Park. Limited parking
here. 0.0 Hollywood Beach in downtown Port Angeles. Rest rooms
and parking (two-hour limit in adjacent lot). Several restaurants within
a block, groceries at Safeway three blocks south on
Lincoln Street. Two bicycle shops within a few blocks west on Front and First Streets. Trail continues
west on road past the Victoria Ferry (Coho) dock. Bus transit center is one block south
with connections throughout Clallam County.
